Your Xbox One Experience Just Got Better
Over at MajorNelson.com, Larry Hyrb talks with Richard Irving from the Xbox One engineering team as he walks us through the social features that are coming with the next major dashboard update on March 4th.

It looks like they have addressed a lot of fans’ concerns with the social features. I am excited for these new features and can’t wait to get this update. I was unfortunately not invited to the Dashboard Preview Program for the first time since 2009. I really like the changes made to the friends list more than anything. I think Microsoft nailed it perfectly in terms of organizing the Friends app into a more user friendly experience.
Now if only they kid make the Friends app an overlay, so when I’m watching TV and want to check my what my friends are doing I don’t have to minimize the TV. I’d rather hear the TV than not hear it at all. Sometimes I will be watching the Dan Patrick Show and I’ll have to wait for a commercial break to scroll through my friends. My work around is to snap a party and view my friends via the Invite More People option, but it doesn’t give you the same amount of information as going to the actual Friends app.
These are all good steps in the right direction, and there’s still room for improvement. For those of you in the dashboard preview program, how do you like the March update so far?
